Norton Tax & Forensic Ltd is led by Andy Maxfield FCA CTA. Andy qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1992 before moving into Tax in 1997.

Andy has specialised in Tax Investigations & Forensic Tax for the last 25 years and has wide experience in fraud investigations, tax amnesties and expert witness work, including professional indemnity assignments. He has provided expert evidence to Counsel in relation to civil and criminal matters.

Andy’s case work invariably involves something that is peculiar and/or unusual, and Andy relishes the challenge that his case work presents.

Andy’s civil tax case work has ranged from COP8 and COP9 through Contractual Disclosure Facility (CDF) disclosures and claims to technical disputes, including challenging H M Revenue & Customs accountants.

Andy has carved a niche in Civil and Criminal case matters and is regularly sought by defence lawyers and Counsel. Andy has also given oral evidence in Court and has experience of working cases emanating from a variety of prosecuting authorities, ranging from H M Revenue & Customs, Trading Standards, Environment Agency, Serious Fraud Office, Regional Asset Recovery Teams, Economic Crime Units, National Crime Agency, and the Police.
